A P O L L O   11  (Armstrong, Aldrin & Collins)

 

The Apollo program was designed to land humans on the Moon and bring them safely back to Earth. Six of the missions (Apollos 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17) achieved this goal. Apollos 7 and 9 were Earth orbiting missions to test the Command and Lunar Modules, and did not return lunar data. Apollos 8 and 10 tested various components while orbiting the Moon, and returned photography of the lunar surface. Apollo 13 did not land on the Moon due to a malfunction, but also returned photographs. The six missions that landed on the Moon returned a wealth of scientific data and almost 400 kilograms of lunar samples. Experiments included soil mechanics, meteoroids, seismic, heat flow, lunar ranging, magnetic fields, and solar wind experiments.

Beautfiully hand signed vintage NASA litho of Neil Armstrong in White Space Suit.  This one is near perfect with a signature that just doesn't get much stronger than this.  It is signed in blue sharpie, "To Carolyn..." and measures 8x10.  This one will never need to be upgraded expecially is your name is Carolyn!  This is unquestionably authentic so no need to battle it out in an auction or take your chances on Ebay to own a high quality Armstrong hand signed litho.

NASA Academy 2000 Certificate Awarded to Buzz Aldrin

Goddard Space Flight Center - June 15, 2000

 

This certificate was presented to Buzz Aldrin for his contributions to the NASA Academy at the Goddard Space Flight Center.  It has also been hand signed by Buzz under his printed name and originated from his personal collection.

 

The NASA Academy is NASA's premiere leadership training program for undergraduate and graduate students. Since its founding in 1993, the NASA Academy has brought together future leaders of the aerospace industry and exposed them to the inner workings of NASA, academia, and industry. The Academy consists of a ten-week summer program hosted by a participating NASA center. Currently there are academies at Ames Research Center, Goddard Space Flight Center, Marshall Space Flight Center and Glenn Research Center.

 

This certificate measures 8.5" x 11" and is in outstanding condition.  A great hand signed item from Buzz's own collection for less than the cost of his signature alone in today's market.
