FLOWN TO THE MOON ON APOLLO 11
A Historic Space Production

Apollo 11 Acrylic

Available ONLY through FarthestReaches.Com

We proudly present the Apollo 11 COLDPLATE Acrylic. This presentation was originally designed and commissioned by Historic Space who have produced what most in the know, view as the finest quality flown space artifact acrylics in existence.  Each edition was offered in very small numbers and made using the finest of materials and it shows.

The specific acrylic being offered here represents what most agree to be among the most desirable of all, because it represents a wonderful example of FLOWN Apollo 11 space history.  Farthest Reaches has acquired the last remaining examples of this Apollo 11 ColdPlate Acrylic.  With only a small number not yet spoken there's still time to obtain one for your own collection but don't delay, because when they're gone, they're gone.

Other acrylic displays in today's marketplace (i.e.. Lovell Seat Couch (selling for up to $900), Kapton Displays (from $50 - $1000), Cosmosphere LB-7 small bolts (selling between $400 - $1000 and flown Liberty Bell film acrylics (selling for up to $200) are highly sought after by collectors.  Of all lunar missions, flown artifacts from Apollo 11 are considered the most desirable of all, making this documented, lucite presentation worthy of your serious consideration.  In addition, flown hardware from the Apollo 11 spacecraft is the rarest and most difficult to obtain.

A number of the images that follow are thumbnails so give them a "click" and see the larger images.  If questions, please don't hesitate to call or email for additional information.  I can be reached at steve@farthestreaches.com OR call the number at the bottom of this page.

Acrylic Engraving Each presentation contains a piece of flown metal from the Apollo 11 Command Module spacecraft "Columbia" It flew in space during July 16-24 1969, carrying astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to the moon where they undertook their historic moonwalk. The flown metal is encapsulated for posterity within a crystal clear acrylic block, measuring 5 x 3.5 x 1.5 inches in size (12.5 x 9 x 4 cm). The acrylic block is free-standing, and attractively shaped with chamfered sides, it is supplied within a presentation box with a black Satin inner liner. The acrylic material is a non-yellowing, scratch-resistant, high quality Lucite.

Encapsulated Coldplate The flown material presented in the acrylic is fascinating. It is called coldplate, and acted as a thermal and solar radiation shield around critical on-board spacecraft components such as the computer system. It has a tri-layer construction with supporting posts between the layers to give an almost honeycomb Source Coldplate effect - designed for maximum strength and effectiveness, and minimum weight. The acrylic presentation is ideal for viewing of the 3-dimensional construction of the coldplate material. The material itself is incredibly strong and hard, yet light-weight - ideal characteristics for spacecraft components - we originally thought it might be a Titanium alloy, but have been advised that it is of an aircraft grade aluminum. The pieces of encapsulated flown metal are approximately half an inch (15 millimeters) in length. They are asymmetrical in shape, mostly triangular or triangular with a chamfered corner, some have rounded areas from the riveting fixatives used to fasten the plate in place on the spacecraft.

The source coldplate material for this edition was originally acquired from an established space auction house where it had been consigned following the closure of a museum of space history. Each acrylic presentation will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Historic Space.  as your assurance of authenticity.

We are delighted to make available to the general public, an edition worthy of the historical significance of the Apollo 11 mission, and are confident that this presentation will become an appreciating asset, and a cherished cornerstone of your space collection.

One of the remaining acrylics from what was already an extremely limited edition can be yours today but ONLY while they last.
This is a "FLOWN" piece of actual mission hardware, flawlessly presented in it's high quality acrylic presentation.
Oh, these acrylics are in "MINT" condition, as nice as they were the day they were produced.   Don't delay!!
