SPECIAL IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING STS-117 LAUNCH VIEWING

We are pleased to announce that for those attending our event, you will have the option of purchasing a $15 ticket at a designated ticket booth which will offer you causeway viewing of the STS-117 launch. While a generous number of tickets have been held for our show guests, they are not unlimited, so tickets are being offered on a first come, first served until they are gone.

Of course, all of our guests are welcome to watch the launch for free from the main campus - which will be set up with bleachers and stadium style LED TV.  We look forward to seeing you there!!!

SPECIAL IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING PICKUP OF PURCHASED TICKET PACKAGES

Ticket packages (Platinum, Gold, Silver and Basic) that were purchased too late to be mailed, may be picked up on a "Will Call" basis.  They will be available for pick up beginning late Wednesday afternoon (6/6/07) at the Holiday Inn Resort at Cocoa Beach (see address below).  You will need to present a photo ID in order to receive your ticket packages.

SPECIAL IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING IMPACT OF LAUNCH ON VIP RECEPTION OR SATURDAY GALA BANQUET

If launch remains scheduled for Friday, June 8 or is rescheduled or postponed until Saturday, June 9:

*  You should plan to bring any items you desire to have during the launch (e.g. camera, tripod, binoculars) with you when you depart for the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in the morning.  You will not have enough time to return to the hotel between the autograph show ending and the targeted launch time.  Further, it is likely that the buses running between the Visitor Complex and the hotel will not resume return service until after the launch attempt has been completed.

*  If the launch remains scheduled for Friday evening, theVIP reception at the Holiday Inn Resort at Cocoa Beach (for Platinum Ticket holders only) will be delayed until after the launch attempt is over.

If STS-117 launches on Friday, then the Saturday evening gala will remain at the Apollo Saturn V Center. If you are a ticket package holder, you may take the bus from the hotel straight to the gala. If you are driving your own vehicle, you will need to drive to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, go through the ticket pavilion and look for signs for special bus boarding to the gala. You must be on time, as the last bus will leave 20 minutes prior to the gala start time.

*  If the launch is rescheduled for Saturday evening, then the banquet will move to the Debus Conference Facility at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

*  For either day, if you are not taking the provided bus transportation from the hotel to the Visitor Complex, you will need to obtain a car pass which may be obtained (for our attendees only) on a "Will Call" basis at the Holiday Inn Resort Cocoa Beach beginning late afternoon on Wednesday June 6, 2007.  You will not be able to drive to the Visitor Complex without one of these passes (unless you have obtained separate launch viewing tickets, i.e. causeway passes).

*  If the launch is rescheduled for Saturday evening, then the banquet may likely move to the Debus Conference Center at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. As with the personal items that you desire for the launch, you should plan to bring with you in the morning the clothes you wish to wear to the banquet, as returning to the hotel may not be possible. It is expected that the astronauts will attend the gala as otherwise planned.

Yes, that's right!....our next big event will be held at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Florida on Thursday June 7th - Saturday June 9th 2007.  This event will be hands down, the most exciting space themed autograph show ever,  so please bookmark this page and check back often to receive the most up to date information.

Walter M. "Wally" Schirra, Jr.
American Hero
Mercury - Gemini - Apollo Astronaut
1923-2007

Wally Schirra was an American treasure. One of the original astronauts and the only man to fly Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions. He was a dedicated, inspiring man. He was also a wonderful friend. God bless him. Wally will be greatly missed.

Wally has been a regular attendee and supporter of our annual show and the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. We dedicate this show to the memory of our fallen friend.

We encourage all attendee's to show their support and love of Wally by wearing your "best Hawaiian shirt" to all events, especially the Saturday night banquet. Wally would have loved the gesture.

See you all at KSC!

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation will be joining us again in 2007!!

We are pleased to announce the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation will hold its Fifth Annual Silent Auction of Astronaut-Donated Memorabilia and Experiences at the Sims/Hankow Autograph show again this year. The auction raised more than $70,000 in 2006 at the San Antonio show.

The auction boasts more than thirty lots and is always a highlight of the show.  Some winning bidders took home artifacts that flew to the surface of the moon!  Others won action-packed adventures, like a SCUBA vacation in the Florida Keys with Apollo Astronaut Al Worden; or plane rides with Shuttle Astronauts John Blaha and Sam Gemar.  Other lots included lunch with Gemini and Apollo Astronaut Buzz Aldrin; Museum Tours with Astronauts Rick Hauck and Tom Jones and a day of golf with Apollo Astronaut Charlie Duke (just to name a few).

An illustrated catalog is now posted at http://www.astronautscholarship.org/auction.pl  with bidding opening on May 31 at 7 AM EDT.  Bidding will close on June 9, 2007 at the Sims/Hankow gala.  All bidders must register in advance.
